In Loving Memory
Sherri King, a wonderfully kind, intelligent and generous co-worker and friend, passed away on September 7th 2014. Sherri joined UVIMCO in March 2012 and served as UVIMCO’s Managing Director of Fixed Income and Risk until her untimely passing.
Sherri was a treasure. She brought demonstrated skill and passion to the rigorously demanding field of credit investments, and quickly established herself as a leader of both the investment team and the entire UVIMCO family. In her short time with the organization, she undertook numerous initiatives in UVIMCO’s portfolio as well as in recruitment and information technology. Sherri’s warmth radiated to everyone, and everything, around her. Sherri performed at the highest professional standards while raising three young children with her husband, Patrick O’Connor. She could do it all.
UVIMCO is pleased to support the establishment of the Sherri King Endowed Scholarship at the University of Virginia. The fund will be a permanent legacy to Sherri that not only preserves her memory, but also nurtures future leaders who embody the traits that we all found so unique in Sherri. It will be awarded in perpetuity to female students who excel in finance, economics and math and have demonstrated a passion for leadership, service and inclusion. The scholarship will serve as a concrete reminder to Sherri's children, Stella, Boden and Lennox and her husband, Pat, that we care deeply about Sherri's legacy and are committed to supporting future leaders who share her unique skills and leadership style.
Directions on how to make a tax deductible donation to the fund can be found here.
